Brian’s teaching emphasizes the reflection of the cycles of life and nature within the human experience. During each cycle of the seasons this human experience shifts on all levels from physical to spiritual in alignment with the prominent natural energies most expressed through each changing season. Ayurveda is a holistic health model with the same roots as Yoga, and its practice offers many tools to maintain balance on all levels of health through an integration with and attunement to nature. This workshop will introduce the concept of seasonal attunement and how we recognize changes in our health through different times of the year. Brian will be sharing this holistic wisdom used for thousands of years in the east that can support a balancing and optimization of health on all levels. With a clear connection to our individual purpose and with support from the energy of the natural world, each of us can transform our own nature to reflect our truest desires and dreams within our lives. And as we all are connected in a global community, through our own transformation we can fully share our light in the evolution of our collective humanity and of life as a whole.
Summer is a time in which nature is fully expressed in all its potential. The plants are in full bloom, the energy in the atmosphere vibrant with life and warmth from the long sunny days and energetic nights. We as people are active, open and expressive in our bodies, minds and communities. This is a time where we have access to great power and much support in transforming ourselves to embody our deep desires and intentions that we have created in months past. Energy is available for us to channel and focus in powerful ways that can lead to many positive changes. This is truly a time when magic can happen in our lives! However, if we are constantly surrounded by this potent energy, yet do not have enough coolant in our engines, things can overheat and burn out. The key to Yoga and Ayurveda is to recognize how everything fits together in perfect balance, and to develop a clear understanding of the many facets and energies of our being in the context of the whole. It may seem easier to get things done, to make plans, and to have endless fun during the summer. However, without the proper physical, nutritional, mental and spiritual tools, this passion and fire can easily fall out of balance. This often leads to negative side effects such as injury, illness and fatigue. Emotions can become overly heated as well, and without any tools to keep our own energies balanced, we might show up more like a wildfire roaring through life with a fierce heat that brings destruction rather than illumination and prosperity. In eastern traditions, the summer is the season of the heart. The heart is linked with the mind and emotions, so it is crucial to nurture and nourish this organ and its related pathways of action. Yoga and Ayurveda both provide many tools and ways to bring this balance and nourishment during the summer and all year long. Join Brian as he shares his favorite and most effective summer practices!
